Prince George Veterinary Hospital

Joan M:

Joan was born and raised on a farm near Dysart, Saskatchewan.  Her first nine years of schooling were done in a one room schoolhouse, and the last three years of high school were in Lipton.  Joan then moved on to Moosejaw to become a registered Psychiatric Nurse, then out into the community as a Psychiatric Social Service Worker before moving on to Prince George.  She started as a receptionist at Prince George Veterinary Hospital in November 1973.  Joan met and lived with her companion, Don, from 1974 until his passing in 2005.

Joan's interests since childhood have always been, foremost, cats, but she also has had two dogs over the years.  She has always worked with the elderly or the mentally challenged.  For relaxation she enjoys reading, needlework, summertime gardening and weeding, and in the wintertime, she (usually!) enjoys shoveling snow.

Sharon G:

Sharon was born in Penticton, B.C. but has lived most of her life in Prince George.  She started working at the hospital twenty-five years ago when her kids started school.  She has worked mostly in reception but has worked in the pharmacy and did some hiring and training for new receptionists for a while.  Her two kids are grown up and moved away.   She has four grandchildren that she does not see nearly enough of.  She and her husband Paul (of thirty-five years) love to travel and go camping in the motor home.   As they are now "empty nesters", they spend their spare time with the cats Maddy-Lynn and Emma-Lee so you can imagine how spoilt they are. The kitties love camping in the motor home too.

Chelsea was born and raised in Prince George and after graduating from PGSS in 2001 her lifelong love of animals brought her to PG Vet, where she worked as a ward attendant for seven years before making the move from the back of the hospital to the front when she became a receptionist. Her furry family includes Maisie, a Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix who weighs almost 100 pounds but still thinks she's a lapdog, and Maddie, a terrier mix who sometimes goes by the nickname "hopalong" because she only has three legs, although that doesn't stop her from running circles around her big sister! The newest addition to the family is Penelope, a shorthaired brown and white tabby who doesn't quite know what to make of the very curious dogs who are always sniffing her. When Chelsea is not working she enjoys walking her dogs in the park.

Tammy N:

Tammy was born and raised in Prince George, and graduated from Duchess Park Secondary School. She started working at the Prince George Veterinary Hospital in 2009. While not at work she enjoys spending time with her family camping, fishing, reading, and walking. Her furry family includes three cats, a dog (that can finally be in the same room as the cats without taking chase!), and 'Frank' the guinea pig.

Lisa W:

Lisa graduated from a Veterinary Assistant program in 2010 and joined our team shortly after. She has a German Shepherd named Buddy who is almost 12 years old but still thinks he's a puppy. Buddy shares living space with Lisa's sister's cat Dizzy "Dum Dum". Lisa enjoys snowboarding and hanging out with friends at a coffee shop when she isn't hard at work here.

Danielle E:

Danielle joined our team in January 2010, working as a ward attendant, moving into reception mid-2011. She was born and raised in Prince George.  She graduated from Kelly Road Secondary School and now attends the college taking classes in the science department. While not sitting through (long and boring) lectures at school, Danielle enjoys spending time relaxing at her lakeside cabin, riding her ATV, playing soccer and entertaining her two four-legged sons, Wilson and Parker (both of whom are black labs). Danielle's smile and enthusiasm are a wonderful asset.
