Heather Hannam:
Heather grew up on a hobby farm in Prince George; spending her time riding horses and enjoying the outdoors. She started working at the practice in the spring of 1976 while attending PGSS (she requests that you do NOT do the math!). She left the practice a few times, the longest absence being when she had two children and fostered some other wonderful youths; staying at home until the youngest was enrolled in elementary school. She worked part-time while acquiring a Bachelor of Commerce at UNBC, graduating in 2008.
When Heather is not at work, she enjoys chauffeuring kids to soccer, Job's Daughters, and other social activities. Other interests include being a PG Cougars fan, a Theatre Northwest patron, gardening, fitness, sewing, and maintaining (attempting to) the peace between two cats and a Jack Russell Terrier.
Heather has held various positions in the hospital over the years but has now graduated from receptionist into the position of Hospital Director.
Sonia Saro:
Sonia started at the Prince George Veterinary Hospital in 1992, working in the summers as a ward attendant. She has gradually moved through the building, working in many areas including as a receptionist, receptionist helper and ward attendant. She settled in as an office assistant, working full time starting in 1996. Her dedication, caring and excellent work attitude has promoted her to office manager starting in 2004.
So far, Sonia has resisted the temptation (though with quite a lot of self control imposed) to add to her one cat family. In her spare time, Sonia likes to quilt and relax with friends and family.
Lucky Lucius:
Luke first came to the Prince George Veterinary Hospital in the summer of 2005. He has suffered some head trauma and was unable to walk or see. Even in this state, he purred when petted and tried to become a member of the team, meowing to anyone who would listen. He has gradually improved, showing such determination that he has been rapidly promoted from the kennels to a more supervisory position. He has much work to do wearing many hats around the hospital. His duties include meeting and greeting clients, inspecting the dogs and cats, official taste tester of anything that he can rip open (we went through many bags of food until we learned to lock the doors!) and official mascot. He can be seen yelling at Joan in the reception area if the food catering is not up to snuff, or snoozing in his chair at his desk in the manager's office.
